Lazy November
Leaves hang entombed in thick ice
Wind blows. Glass parade.

Ice on the sidewalk
Sheen from last night’s freezing rain.
Move slow. Watch for cars.
Traffic’s terrible
It’s the weeks before Christmas
We forgot something
When Nor’Easters come
I wish for lavish snowfall
Shut my city down, please
Snow in blackened mounds
Heaped along bleak city streets
Socks wet in my boots
